Innoexplorer round 3 2026

You apply for Innoexplorer via the e-grant application system.

How to proceed:
- Go to www.e-grant.dk and create a user account
- Find the call under “Search options” (they all start with “IF”)
- Create and submit your application
You may write the application in Danish or English.

Also remember to attach:
- Max. 6 slides with information about your idea
- A signed budget
- A letter of support from your institution
- If relevant, a list of relevant publications (max. 1 page).
Please note that your institution may have internal deadlines that are earlier than the official application deadline.

Remember to read the guidelines before you apply under “Guidelines and documents” below.
Innoexplorer has a number of themes within which Innovation Fund Denmark can invest. Your application can either be placed within one of the themes or submitted outside the themes.

You can apply within:
- Green technology and innovation
- Life science, health and welfare technology
- Digital and critical technologies
- Or you can apply outside the themes if your project does not fit within one of the themes above
When you apply for Innoexplorer, you must complete an application in e-grant including both information and attachments.

In the application, you must, among other things: :
- Write a short summary of your project
- Explain how it fits within a theme (or outside the themes)
- Provide information about you, your team and your institution

If your application meets the formal requirements, you will be invited to present your project to the Innoexplorer Panel Committee.

The process is as follows:
- You will be invited to a panel meeting and informed of the time approximately 14 days in advance
- You give a short presentation and answer questions from the panel
- Your application is assessed against fixed criteria and the scope of the programme
You may present in Danish or English and bring project-relevant persons with you. After the meeting, your application is assessed as a whole and a recommendation is made for either funding or rejection. The final decision is made by Innovation Fund Denmark.
When you apply for Innoexplorer, your application is assessed based on three main points:
- Quality of the idea: How clear, relevant and innovative the entrepreneurial idea is
- Impact: Whether there is a real need, a market and potential for value creation
- Quality of execution: Whether the idea can be realised in practice
The three criteria carry equal weight in the assessment. You can read more about what is emphasised in the guidelines under “Guidelines and documents” below.
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a response via e-grant. You can expect to receive a response within approximately 10 weeks.

If your application is approved, you will receive an award letter in e-grant.

You must then:
- Accept and sign the award letter within 4 weeks, after which you will be registered as project manager for the grant
- Once you have signed, you will gain access to the grant in e-grant
You may only start your project once you have accepted the award in e-grant.

Please note:
- Your project only begins once the award has been accepted
- You must start on the date you stated in the application
- The latest start date is 4 months after you have received the award

The funds from Innoexplorer are paid to your institution—not directly to you.

The payment is made in two instalments:
- The majority (85%) is paid when the project starts
- The remainder (15%) is paid when the project has ended and Innovation Fund Denmark has approved the final accounts
- The final instalment is only paid once the accounts and reporting have been approved.
You/we must submit accounts and reporting when the project has ended. The final accounts must be audited.

When the project period ends, the project is automatically closed, and you will be notified in e-grant of the next steps.

You must then:
- Complete a short evaluation form
- Prepare a professional report
- Submit the final accounts
Everything must be submitted no later than one month after the end of the project. You may also be invited to an evaluation meeting. Once everything has been approved, the remaining part of the support to which you are entitled will be paid out.
