The projects are in a pre-commercial phase and focus on clarifying business potential and reducing risk, so the idea can be brought closer to market or attract further investment.

Who can apply?

Innoexplorer is for employees at Danish public research and educational institutions and hospitals who want to turn research results into a business. The programme covers all disciplines, and an idea does not need to be patentable.

You can apply if you:

  • Work with research in your current position
  • You or members of your team have made a significant contribution to the results
  • Involve your institution in the application
  • Have an ambition to start a business based on your idea

Remember to read the guidelines for all details.

What can you get funding for?

Innoexplorer supports the activities needed to bring your idea closer to becoming a business.

You can receive funding for, for example:

  • Time spent on the project (salary) and external assistance, e.g. consultancy or specialised services
  • Materials and equipment needed to develop the idea towards commercialisation

All costs must be directly linked to the project and clearly stated in the activity plan.

Remember to read the Guidelines to see what can be funded and what is not eligible for funding.

How much can you get?

With Innoexplorer, you can receive funding to develop your idea at an early stage.

You can receive:

  • Between DKK 500,000 and DKK 1.5 million in funding (including overhead)
  • Funding for a project lasting up to 12 months

The funds are paid to the institution through which you apply. Remember to read the guidelines for all details.
