In September 2018, the Government appointed an international expert panel tasked with evaluating Innovation Fund Denmark. The aim was to determine whether the Fund meets its statutory purpose and whether it fulfils its central role in the Danish research and innovation system satisfactorily.

Eurostars – A Joint Swiss Danish Impact Study

In November 2021, Innovation Fund Denmark conducted a survey among the companies that completed a project funded by Innovation Fund Denmark during the past year (November 2020 – November 2021).

The primary purpose of the survey is to map grant recipients’ innovation efforts and how Innovation Fund Denmark’s investment has contributed to those efforts. Participants were also asked to assess various aspects of the investment’s significance, including capacity building, external collaborations, and the use and commercialisation of knowledge within the company.

At the request of Innovation Fund Denmark, Pluss Leadership has conducted a learning evaluation of the Innomissions initiative. The purpose of this review is not to carry out a formal evaluation of the individual missions or to assess their impact. Rather, the aim is to take stock of experiences to date, reflect on the implementation and governance of mission driven innovation in a Danish public-sector context, and extract lessons that can inform exist ing and future mission-oriented efforts.

This report marks Innovation Fund Denmark’s first consolidated and systematic documentation and analysis of the impacts of the Fund’s investments.

Impact measurement is a fundamental ambition in the Fund’s work to invest in societal solutions – and in winter 2024 we took an important step towards this with the launch of the Fund’s impact framework. The framework is a theoretical tool developed to document the societal value of the Fund’s investments.

With this theoretical foundation, the Fund’s data are now presented in a new and important context to highlight the Fund’s contribution to society.

Innovation Fund Denmark’s Impact Report 2025

For the first time, Innovation Fund Denmark has compiled the main conclusions from our annual user satisfaction surveys into a single report. The report covers the 2024 results for the programmes Grand Solutions, Innofounder, Innoexplorer, InnoBooster and Industrial Researcher, and provides insight into applicants’ experiences in 2024.

Report on artificial intelligence in Denmark prepared by Innovation Fund Denmark and McKinsey & Co.

The report shows that the Danish economy could grow by DKK 35 billion annually up to 2030. Artificial intelligence could also mean an additional DKK 9 billion per year for welfare and public services in Denmark.

Danish Technological Institute and IFD have jointly conducted a datamining analyses of global Hot Spots for patent families within Advanced Technologies. The thematic areas covers ICT, Material, Artificial Intelligence, Drones and Satellites, Photonics etc. The analysis was used in a workshop on 12 June 2018 with Danish key stakeholders on IFDs international engagement within Advanced Technologies.
