How it works – from application to project
Here you can see how to apply and what your application must include.
-
The application process for Grand Solutions takes place in two phases.
Phase 1: You submit a brief description of your project (Letter of Interest). Based on your Letter of Interest, you will either receive an invitation to Phase 2 or a rejection.
See more in the Phase 1 guidelines under “Guidelines and documents” below.
Phase 2: If you are invited to Phase 2, you submit a final application with a detailed description of the project. Danmarks Innovationsfond then decides which projects will be invited to enter into an investment agreement with the fund.
See more in the Phase 2 guidelines under “Guidelines and documents” below.
All application material must be written in English and submitted via the fund’s electronic application system, e-grant.
You can find help creating your application in e-grant on the website of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
-
In both phases, you complete and submit your application in e-grant.
The application consists of an electronic form in which you briefly describe your project—what it is about, who is participating, and what the project aims to achieve. If you proceed to Phase 2, you must elaborate on the project and attach relevant appendices.
Remember to read the specific requirements for the application content in the Grand Solutions guidelines under “Guidelines and documents” below.

The application and assessment process for Grand Solutions was updated in February 2024. If you would like to know more about the changes to Grand Solutions, you can visit our Q&A here.
