New initiative to establish quantum technology test and demonstration facilities

Innovation Fund Denmark is launching a new call for proposals with DKK 49 million to strengthen testing, demonstration and commercialisation of quantum technology in Denmark. The call is open to companies, universities and GTS institutes.

Innovation Fund Denmark is now launching a new call for proposals focused on establishing test and demonstration facilities within quantum technology.

The initiative is part of the political agreements on research and innovation for 2026–2029 and will help maintain and further develop Denmark’s strong positions in quantum technology, while accelerating commercialisation and industrial scaling of quantum-technology solutions.

This is an entirely new initiative at Innovation Fund Denmark, intended to complement existing activities in the quantum field. Among other things, it will help create coherence with other national and European initiatives and strengthen Denmark’s ability to attract both companies and research environments.

A total of DKK 49 million has been allocated to the initiative, which may, for example, support the development and manufacture of quantum components, integration and testing of quantum systems, as well as validation, demonstration environments and pilot plants.

Innovation Fund Denmark’s investment per project will be between DKK 10 million and DKK 49 million, and projects may run for one to four years. Please note that this is co-funding for establishing facilities—not for subsequent operation.

• Call published no later than: 1 May 2026
• Access to application form: mid-May 2026
• Application deadline: 18 August 2026 at 12:00
• Expected decision: mid-September 2026
• Project start: November 2026
