Who can apply?

Private sector companies and public sector organisations geographically located in Denmark, in collaboration with Industrial PhD candidates and universities of any nationality and location.

What can you apply for?

With the agreement on the national dementia action plan 2025, the government and the rate adjustment pool (DK: satspulje) parties have prioritised DKK 470M for the implementation of 23 specific initiatives and, as part of this, have allocated DKK 5,5M for Industrial PhD projects within the dementia area.

As a starting point, funding has been allocated for two projects in 2018 and three projects in 2019. The projects can be about research within health science, social methods or technological know-how etc. in the dementia area. The research must support and procure relevant research based knowledge about methods and applications concerning the dementia action plan’s five focus areas:

  • Early tracking and better quality in diagnostics and treatment
  • Better quality of nursing, care and rehabilitation
  • Support for people with dementia and relatives
  • Dementia-friendly housing and society
  • Increased knowledge and competence levels

Additionally, it will be weighted positively if the research corresponds with the fundamental values that function as an indicator for the initiatives for people with dementia and their relatives going toward 2025. These values are:

  • Dignity
  • Safety
  • Influence on own life
  • Respect for diversity and the life lived
  • An individual and holistic approach to treatment, nursing and care based in the human behind the disorder
  • Meaningful everyday activities
